Industrial & instrument protective cases
Start with the equipment, then define shell, foam, handles, latches and seals. Test the whole packed system for drop and vibration. A rugged shell alone does not establish an IP rating or transport performance.

What to send for a useful review
- Overall dimensions and installation space
- Static load, impact, vibration and mounting
- Gaskets, connections and leak test method
- Packed dimensions, protection and destination
- Test conditions and pass/fail limits
Catalogue examples show applications, not guaranteed specifications. Grade, dimensions, testing and delivery are agreed for each project.

Recycled PE and specialty materials
A sustainability claim needs a defined material source and an appropriate application. Recycled content may change consistency, colour and mechanical behaviour; test the specified blend rather than assuming equivalence to virgin resin. Keep traceability and substitution rules in the purchase specification. XLPE, nylon, PP and other specialty routes require their own processing and validation plan. Availability in the industry does not mean every material is suitable or already qualified on Benfan’s production route.
Read guide ↗Tooling route, ownership and maintenance
Compare tooling routes against geometry, finish, revision risk and expected runs. Do not buy on mold price alone. Record tool identification, ownership, exclusivity if agreed, storage, maintenance, damage responsibility and transfer conditions. Define who approves a repair or geometry change. Separate tool acceptance from sample and production acceptance. A customer-owned tool is an asset with a management process, not simply a line on the invoice. Ask for the latest approved drawing revision with each change request.
Read guide ↗What makes a rotomolding RFQ quotable?
A useful RFQ describes function, drawing revision, material or exposure, quantity, critical interfaces, tests and destination. Separate tooling, samples, recurring parts, purchased fittings and packaging in the commercial review. MOQ and lead time depend on the approved project, colour, materials and schedule; avoid relying on a universal website number. Ask what assumptions the quote includes and how long pricing remains valid. Sampling, testing and approval are milestones, so the order date alone does not define the production start.
